Summary
Community Connect 3 hotfix to update Commissioning Utilities for multi-site networks.
Description
Any references to Community Connect 3 in this document apply equally to RM Smart-Tools 3.
Problem Statement
The workstation build process on multi-site networks can come to a halt with the station displaying the Microsoft logon screen and not the RM logon screen. The problem is caused by the RM build process not necessarily updating a workstation's details in the Active Directory site containing the workstation (but a remote AD site instead).
To resolve this issue it is necessary to return to the station to restart it, for the build process to continue. This restart needs to take place after the workstation details have replicated back from the remote AD site to the local AD site. If users come to the station and log on to it whilst it is at the Microsoft logon screen, they will not get an expected desktop and start menu, and their applications will not be available.
Solution Statement
HFXCC3029 updates RM Commissioning Utilities so that all workstation updating activity during the build process takes place in the local Active Directory site, rather than potentially a random site.
This hotfix should be installed on Community Connect 3 domain controllers running Service Release 2 or Service Release 3.
What will the Hotfix change?
HFXCC3029 contains a branched version of RM Commissioning Utilities, v1.54.1.0, which itself contains a version of RM system file adutils.dll which corrects the problem described above.
