Modifying a custom usertype after applying HFXCC3182 will undo changes in the update
Published Date : 11 Feb 2008 Last Updated : 13 Feb 2020 Content Ref: DWN1119410

Description

RM update HFXCC3182 was released to resolve sporadic problems with shortcut delivery, caused by a conflict between RM Explorer 2 and Desktop Agent. In certain circumstances, it is possible that the changes made by that update may be lost by modifying a custom User Type cloned from the RM Explorer User Type post-HFXCC3182.

In order to ensure these changes are made permanently, apply the registry fragment in this download to your User Type as a "Custom Setting".

Symptoms

Apply this to your custom User Type if you have experienced the issues described in HFXCC3182, which were then resolved by applying the update, but have now re-occurred when using a custom User Type based on the RM Explorer User Type.

Download Instructions

  1. Click the RM Explorer Custom Settings.zip file link below to download the registry fragment (currently zipped up).
  2. Choose to Save the file, browse to the temporary location you wish to save it to (for example C:\temp) and click Save.
  3. When it has downloaded, follow the Installation Instructions section below to add it as a Custom Setting to your User Type.
