Summary
This hotfix will apply critical Microsoft security updates to Community Connect 3 workstations and/or servers. The Microsoft references for these hotfixes are MS02-050, MS02-055, MS03-007 and MS03-018.
Description
Note: The contents of this hotfix are included in Service Release 4 (SR4). If you have already installed SR4 you do not need to install this hotfix. If you have not yet installed SR4, you should consider installing this Critical Hotfix at your earliest convenience.
Any references to Community Connect 3 in this document apply equally to RM Smart-Tools 3.
Problem Statement
Microsoft has released significant security updates to a number of key Windows components to improve their security and performance. HFXCC3020 contains these updates in a format easily applied to Community Connect 3 networks running Service Release 3.
Solution Statement
If you have not yet installed SR4 install this hotfix immediately.
Apply HFXCC3020 to Community Connect 3 domain controllers and workstations running Service Release 3 as detailed in the installation instructions below.
What will this Hotfix change?
HFXCC3020 contains critical Microsoft security updates which are applicable to Windows 2000 Server and/or Windows XP Professional:
MS02-050: Certificate Validation Hotfix (329115) - for Community Connect 3 servers and workstations
MS02-055: Windows Help Facility Hotfix (323255) - for Community Connect 3 workstations
MS03-007: WebDAV NTDLL Hotfix (815021) - for Community Connect 3 workstations*
MS03-018: IIS Hotfix (811114) - for Community Connect 3 servers
*NOTE: You should ensure you have installed Microsoft WebDAV Hotfix 815021 on all your Community Connect 3 servers. This hotfix is included on the Service Release 3 (SR3) CD, and the installation instructions for it are included in the SR3 Release Note. Further details of this fix can be found in RM article DWN100380.

Who should install this Hotfix?
You should apply this hotfix if you are running a Community Connect 3 network upgraded to Service Release 3.
HFXCC3020 should be applied to all Community Connect 3 domain controllers on your network. It does not need to be applied to member servers. It does not need to be applied to Community Connect 3 workstations directly but you will need to restart workstations for the hotfix to be applied.
Platforms
Important: This hotfix should only be installed on Community Connect 3 domain controller servers which have already had RM Service Release 3 (SR3) installed.

Select the HFXCC3020.exe file to download.
Choose to Save the file, browse to the location you wish to save it to and click OK.
When it has downloaded follow the installation instructions below to install the hotfix on each Community Connect 3 domain controller.

Installation Instructions
How to install the Hotfix
NOTE: If you previously started to install the hotfix but cancelled the operation, follow the installation instructions in the 'Installing after cancelling a previous install' section below
1.Download HFXCC3020.
2.Log on to your first Community Connect 3 domain controller as Administrator (not SystemAdmin) and copy the hotfix to a temporary location (e.g. D:\temp).
3.Run the hotfix by double-clicking the self-extracting executable file (HFXCC3020.exe).The hotfix will extract files automatically and run the RM Installation Assistant to install the hotfix.
4.When prompted, click Continue.
5.The installation will proceed automatically.When prompted that the RM Installation Assistant has finished, click Finish.
NOTE: After installation at a server, the server will need to be rebooted for the hotfix to be applied fully.
6.Repeat Steps 2-5 at all your other Community Connect 3 domain controllers.

7.When all Community Connect 3 domain controllers have had the hotfix applied, restart your workstations for the hotfix to be applied fully. The following new RM System Packages will have been allocated to main site and will be installed on workstations upon reboot.

Workstations may restart more than once during installation of the hotfix. To ensure that the install process has finished, wait for two minutes before logging on.
Installing after cancelling a previous install
1.Browse to D:\RMNetwork\RMManage\RM Hotfixes\HFXCC3020_extracted and double-click the file RM Installation Assistant.exe. (If this folder or its contents does not exist, re-run the HFXCC3020.exe file downloaded from the RM Support website).
2.The RM Installation Assistant will initialise; click Continue to proceed with the installation.
3.The installation should proceed automatically.
4.Follow the procedures in 'How to install the Hotfix' from step 5 above.
Additional Information
The hotfixes contained in HFXCC3020 will be included in Service Release 4.
