Hotfix to address workstation package allocation/de-allocation failure [HFXCC3047]
Published Date : 19 Sep 2003 Last Updated : 13 Feb 2020 Content Ref: DWN154418

Description

Any references to Community Connect 3™ in this document apply equally to RM Smart-Tools 3.

This hotfix is included in Service Release 4. If you have already installed SR4, you do not need to install the hotfix. If you have not yet installed SR4, review the information below to decide if you wish to install this hotfix now.

Problem Statement

Upon restarting a Community Connect 3 workstation, packages are not allocated or de-allocated, even though the workstation's INI file states that one or more packages have a status of UPDATE_PENDING or INSTALL_PENDING. This problem is most likely to be seen after installing Service Release 3 on workstations which have failed to upgrade, or which have been rebuilt using the same name.

Running D:\RMNetwork\RMManage\Station Manager\HealthCheck.exe succeeds and reports no errors, but the problem remains.

Solution statement

HFXCC3047 updates RM Station Manager and includes a new version of HealthCheck.exe to ensure that all locations and workstations are checked when the application is run.

What will the Hotfix change?

HFXCC3047 will update RM Station Manager to version 2.40.1.0.

Who should install this Hotfix?

You should install this hotfix if you are experiencing package allocation or de-allocation issues as described in the 'Problem Statement' above and have run HealthCheck.exe, but this has not resolved all problems.

HFXCC3047 should only be installed on to Community Connect 3 networks running Service Release 3.
