Hotfix to correct intermittent loss of the drive N: mapping at logon on Community Connect 3 Workstations [HFXCC3044]
Published Date : 26 Sep 2003 Last Updated : 13 Feb 2020 Content Ref: DWN157707

Description

**Please note this only applies to Community Connect 3and RM Smart-Tools 3 networks**

Any references to Community Connect 3 in this document apply equally to RM Smart-Tools 3.

This hotfix is included in Service Release 4. If you have already installed SR4, you do not need to install this hotfix now. If you have not yet installed SR4, review the information below to decide if you wish to install the hotfix now.

Problem statement

You may experience the loss of the drive N: mapping at logon. This problem may occur on workstations which are only used while connected to the network, or on workstations which are used while disconnected.

This hotfix includes a version of RM Offline that repairs the broken N: connection using data derived from a successful mapping online.  Where the N: drive is already successfully mapped, RM Offline does nothing to the connection.

Solution statement

Apply HFXCC3044 to your network if you are experiencing the problem described above.

HFXCC3044 can be installed on Community Connect 3 networks running Service Release 2 or Service Release 3.

What will this Hotfix change?
HFXCC3044 will add version 1.2.0.0 of RM Offline, an RM System Tool, to your Community Connect 3 network. This package will be installed on to Community Connect 3 workstations when they are restarted.

Who should install this Hotfix?

You should apply this hotfix if you are running a Community Connect 3 network and experiencing the issue described above.

HFXCC3044 should be applied to all Community Connect 3 domain controllers on your network. It does not need to be applied to Community Connect 3 workstations directly but you will need to restart workstations for the hotfix to be installed.

  2. Choose to "Save" the file, browse to the location you wish to save it to and click OK.
