Problem statement

Solution statement

New policy templates are available for use on Community Connect to configure Office 2003 and Outlook 2003 products.

Apply HFXCC3062 to your Community Connect 3 network running Service Release 3 at your convenience. It should be run on all domain controllers but does not need to be run on other servers. For example, Member or DAMMS servers. Workstations will need to be restarted for the hotfix to be installed fully.

HFXCC3062 will install new ADM policy template files to the C:\WINNT\inf\Research Machines folder on each domain controller. It will also install or update the workstation system tool package RM Outlook Profile Setup.

Who should install this hotfix?

You should apply this hotfix if you are running a Community Connect 3 network upgraded to Service Release 3 and are using Office 2003.

HFXCC3062 should be applied to all Community Connect 3 domain controllers on your network. It does not need to be applied to Community Connect 3 workstations directly but you will need to restart workstations at your convenience for the hotfix to be installed.

Important: You will need to follow the installation instructions below carefully to configure the network after installing this hotfix. The full installation involves running the hotfix on every domain controller on the network, then performing some configuration changes to the Active Directory.

  2. Choose to Save the file, browse to the location you wish to save it to and click OK.

1.       Download HFXCC3062.

4.       When prompted, click Continue. The installation will proceed automatically and may take several minutes to complete. When prompted that the RM Installation Assistant has finished, click Finish.

5.       Repeat steps 2-4 at each of your other Community Connect 3 domain controllers. HFXCC3062 does not need to be run on Community Connect 3 Member Servers or DAMMS servers.
