Summary
Community Connect 3 software update to correct a problem first seen in Service Release 4. The issue only applies to networks using Office XP SP2.
Description
Any references to Community Connect 3 in this document apply equally to RM Smart-Tools 3.
Issue
After installing Community Connect 3 Service Release 4 (SR4) and following the Release Note instructions to allocate Microsoft Office XP security updates to workstations, future station rebuilds may record installation failures for some of the security updates. A workstation rebuild will complete but the security updates will fail to install.
Solution
You should apply this Update if you have installed Service Release 4 (SR4) and have Microsoft Office XP SP2 installed on your network.
Note: To check for Microsoft Office XP SP2, log on to a Community Connect 3 workstation as a systemadmin user and browse to Q:\Applications. If you have Microsoft Office XP SP2 installed, a folder called 'MS Office XP SP2' will be present in the Applications folder.
What will this Update change?
HFXCC3068 will update the Office XP SP2 security patches' INI files to ensure that whenever a Community Connect 3 workstation is rebuilt, the security updates install after Office XP SP2.
Who should install this Update?
You should consider applying this Update if you have installed SR4 and have Microsoft Office XP SP2 installed on your network.
HFXCC3068 should be applied to all Community Connect 3 servers which are running Service Release 4 and contain an RMPackages share. This can be found in the following location:
D:\RMNetwork\RMManage\Packages
In general, these will be domain controllers only (i.e. not member servers). You will not need to restart any servers after installing this Update.
Once you have installed the Update, future workstation rebuilds will install the security updates correctly. In order to fix the problem before rebuilding any workstations, the security packages will need to be re-allocated to affected workstations and workstations restarted as explained in the 'How to install the Update' section below.
