Description

Before installing any software update, please refer TEC90813 and DWN59018 in the 'Other Useful Articles' section below. These articles detail RM's recommendations regarding software update installation and support.
Any references to Community Connect 3 in this document apply equally to RM Smart-Tools 3.
This Update applies to networks running Community Connect 3 Service Release 4.
Issue
Prior to installing Service Release 4 (SR4), users may not have been able to copy files to a CD writer on their workstation due to the restrictions placed on the file system of the local computer by Community Connect 3 security. HFXCC3026 was released to correct this problem and also to add a shortcut for CD Burning Helper to the Send To: menu (the menu available when a user right-clicks a file).
After installing SR4, the Send To: shortcut for CD Burning Helper is no longer available because the CD Burning Helper shortcut is missing from G:\RMDelivery\Group Resources\Send To\<user group> folders on each Community Connect 3 Domain Controller.
Solution
The problem noted above can be corrected by re-applying HFXCC3026 after SR4 but this will result in the CD Burning Helper Package being reinstalled unnecessarily on all workstations. This new Update, HFXCC3082, has been developed to avoid this inconvenience and to correct the problem.
NOTE: On some networks, installing this Update may result in two shortcuts for the CD Burning Helper application being present for users. If you apply HFXCC3082 and find that users subsequently receive two shortcuts, please refer to TEC308094 via the link in the 'Other Useful Articles' section below.
Apply this Update if you have users who use CD writing on Community Connect 3 workstations and wish to restore the lost shortcut functionality.
NOTE: The Update can be installed on to Community Connect 3 networks running Service Release 4 or above.
This Update should be installed on all Community Connect 3 domain controllers. Servers and workstations will not need to be restarted after applying this Update.
What will this Update change?
HFXCC3082 will re-apply the CD Burning Helper shortcut correctly to all groups within the RMDelivery share.
Who should install this Update?
You should apply this Update if you have users who use CD writing on Community Connect 3 workstations and wish to restore the lost shortcut functionality.
HFXCC3082 should be applied to all Community Connect 3 domain controllers. Servers and workstations will not need to be restarted after applying this Update.
