Note: Any references to Community Connect 3™ in this document apply equally to RM Smart-Tools 3.
Before installing any software update, please refer to TEC90813 and DWN59018 on the RM Support Web site (see 'Other Useful Articles' below). These articles detail RM's recommendations regarding software update installation and support.
HFXCC3149 can be installed on to Community Connect 3 networks with Local Support Tools. The Update fully supersedes HFXCC3134B.

Symptoms
This Update addresses a problem which may be seen where tasks fail to be processed on multiprocessor servers, immediately being displayed as failed in the RM Management Console (RMMC). This problem applies to both Scheduled and Non-scheduled tasks and they will continue to fail in this manner until the RMC3IEngine is restarted. You may see one of the following errors in the Scheduled Tasks History in the RMMC:
�The task was not processed (0X80004005)
�The task was not processed (0xe0001c29)
Cause
This error is caused by memory issue with multithreading on multiple processor servers, which has been fixed by a change to the RM LST SMG component.
Requirements
It is recommended that you apply this Update if you are using Local Support Tools. The Update can be applied to any Community Connect 3 network with Local Support Tools.
Impact on your network
This Update should be installed on all Community Connect 3 domain controllers (beginning with the Forest Root).
Servers and workstations will not need to be restarted after applying this Update.
Installation of this Update will stop and start the RMC3IEngine service. As a result of this Local Support Tools and RM Auditor (if present) may not function normally for the duration of the Update's installation.
Note: During the installation of this Update the Scheduled Tasks settings will be reset to their original values:
�Display history for: 40 days
�Poll the server every: 5 minutes
After installation you will need to restore any manual changes you may have made to these settings.

At a workstation, click the HFXCC3149.exe file link below to download the Update.
Choose to Save the file, browse to the temporary location you wish to save it to (e.g. 'Desktop' or C:\Temp) and click Save.
When the file has downloaded, follow the installation instructions below to install the Update.

Installation Instructions
How to install the Update
Note: If you previously started to install the Update but cancelled the operation, follow the installation instructions in the 'Installing after cancelling a previous install' section below:
Download HFXCC3149.
Log on to your first Community Connect 3 domain controller as Administrator (not SystemAdmin) and copy the Update to a temporary location (e.g. D:\temp).
Run the Update by double-clicking the self-extracting executable file (HFXCC3149.exe). The Update will extract files automatically and run the RM Installation Assistant to begin the installation.
When prompted, click Continue.
The installation will proceed automatically. When prompted that the RM Installation Assistant has finished, click Finish.
Repeat steps 2 to 5 for each additional Community Connect 3 domain controller.
Note: During the installation of this Update the Scheduled Tasks settings will be reset to their original values:
�Display history for: 40 days
�Poll the server every: 5 minutes
After installation you will need to restore any manual changes you may have made to these settings.
Installing after cancelling a previous install
Browse to D:\RMNetwork\RMManage\RM Hotfixes\HFXCC3149_extracted and double-click the file RM Installation Assistant.exe (if this folder or its contents does not exist, re-run the HFXCC3149.exe file downloaded from the RM Support Web site).
Follow the procedures in 'How to install the Update' from step 4 above.
Important - Interaction with RM Service Releases
The components of HFXCC3149 may be included in a future Community Connect 3 Service Release. HFXCC3149 is not included in Service Release 4 or Service Release 5; it will not need to be re-applied if installed before Service Release 5.
This Update can be installed on to networks running Community Connect 3 with Local Support Tools.
