Note: Any references to Community Connect� 3 in this document apply equally to RM Smart-Tools 3.

Before installing any software update, please refer to TEC90813 and DWN59018 on the RM Support Web site (see 'Other Useful Articles' below). These articles detail RM's recommendations regarding software update installation and support.

HFXCC3153 fully supersedes HFXCC3137 and HFXCC3115.

HFXCC3153 updates RM Type Manager to correct the following issue:

�        Whenever a hash rule for an executable file is created, a copy of the target executable is created in the root of the RM Type Manager folder structure on the server (D:\RMNetwork\RMManage\Type Manager). This copy of the executable file is not required and will mean there is redundant data on the server's hard disk drive structure. If several large executable files are treated in this way, significant disk space may be used.

You should apply this Update if you are affected by the problem noted above.

The Update can be applied to any Community Connect 3 network with RM Type Manager installed.

• This Update should be installed on all Community Connect 3 domain controllers (beginning with the Forest Root).
• Servers and workstations will not need to be restarted after applying this Update.
• HFXCC3153 will update the core RM Type Manager component to version 1.22.0.0.

1. Log on to a workstation as a Systemadmin user.
2. Click the HFXCC3153.exe file link below to download the Update.
3. Choose to Save the file, browse to the temporary location you wish to save it to (eg Desktop or C:\Temp) and click Save.
4. When the file has downloaded, follow the installation instructions below to install the Update.

How to install the Update

Note: If you previously started to install the Update but cancelled the operation, follow the installation instructions in the 'Installing after cancelling a previous install' section below:

1. Download HFXCC3153.
2. Log on to your first Community Connect 3 domain controller as Administrator (not SystemAdmin) and copy the Update to a temporary location (eg D:\temp).
3. Run the Update by double-clicking the self-extracting executable file (HFXCC3153.exe).
   The Update will extract files automatically and run the RM Installation Assistant to begin the installation.
4. When prompted, click Continue.
5. The installation will proceed automatically. When prompted that the RM Installation Assistant has finished, click Finish.
6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 for each additional Community Connect 3 domain controller.

Installing after cancelling a previous install

1. Browse to D:\RMNetwork\RMManage\RM Hotfixes\HFXCC3153_extracted and double-click the file RM Installation Assistant.exe (if this folder or its contents does not exist, re-run the HFXCC3153.exe file downloaded from the RM Support Web site).
2. Follow the procedures in 'How to install the Update' from step 4 above.

• The components of HFXCC3153 are included in RM Service Release 6 for Community Connect 3.
• The Update can be installed onto networks running Community Connect 3 with RM Type Manager.

• HFXCC3153 will update RM Type Manager to version 1.22.0.0
