Symptoms

This Update addresses an issue after applying VPC for Communiy Connect 3.

The installation of VPC for Community Connect 3 made changes to the Software Restrictions policy, and set the policy to read-only after these changes were made. As a result, any attempts to create new hash or path rules will fail, displaying the error message "Failed to modify rule for <path>".

Cause

This issue is caused by a Group Policy Object change delivered by VPC for Community Connect 3.

Note: The Update can be installed on to Community Connect 3 networks running Service Release 4 or above.

This Update should be installed on the first Community Connect 3 domain controller in each site. Servers and workstations will not need to be restarted after applying this Update to correct the issue.

HFXCC3154 should be applied to the first Community Connect 3 domain controller in each site only. It does not need to be applied to any other servers or workstations and no servers or workstations will need to be restarted.
