**Please note this only applies to Community Connect 3™ and RM Smart-Tools 3 networks.**

Note: Any references to Community Connect 3 in this document apply equally to RM Smart-Tools 3.

Before installing any software update, please refer to TEC90813 and DWN59018 on the RM Support Web site (see the Other Useful Articles section below). These articles detail RM's recommendations regarding software update installation and support.

HFXCC3186 is applicable to Community Connect 3 networks with RM Auditor Additions Web Monitor.

The RM Web Traffic Monitor Proxy has been amended to include a check to see what the status of the RMC3IEngine is and restart the RMC3IEngine service if it has failed to start up correctly as a result of the above scenario. This resets the service status, and allows connections to be reinstated.

It is recommended that you apply this Update if you are using RM Auditor Additions (Web Monitor).

HFXCC3186 should be installed on all Community Connect 3 Domain Controller servers. Workstations will need to be restarted to upgrade RM Web Traffic Monitor Proxy.

• HFXCC3186 should be installed on all Community Connect 3 Domain Controller servers. 
• Servers will not need to be restarted after applying this Update.
• Workstations will need to be restarted to upgrade RM Web Traffic Monitor Proxy.

1. At a workstation, click the HFXCC3186.exe file link below to download the Update.
2. Choose to Save the file, browse to the temporary location you wish to save it to (eg Desktop or C:\Temp) and click Save.
3. When the file has downloaded, follow the installation instructions below to install the Update.

How to install the Update

Note: If you previously started to install the Update but cancelled the operation, follow the installation instructions in the 'Installing after cancelling a previous install' section below:

1. Log on to your first Community Connect 3 domain controller as Administrator (not SystemAdmin) and copy the Update to a temporary location (eg D:\temp).
2. Run the Update by double-clicking the self-extracting executable file (HFXCC3186.exe).
   The Update will extract files automatically and run the RM Installation Assistant to begin the installation.
3. When prompted, click Continue.
4. The installation will proceed automatically. When prompted that the RM Installation Assistant has finished, click Finish.
5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 for each additional Community Connect 3 server where RM Local Support Tools or RM Auditor 1.2 is installed.
6. Restart your Community Connect 3 workstations for the Update to complete the installation.

Installing after cancelling a previous install

1. Browse to D:\RMNetwork\RMManage\RM Hotfixes\HFXCC3186_extracted and double-click the file RM Installation Assistant.exe (if this folder or its contents does not exist, re-run the HFXCC3186.exe file downloaded from the RM Support Web site).
2. Follow the procedures in 'How to install the Update' from step 3 above.

HFXCC3186 is not included in Service Release 4 or Service Release 5; it will not need to be re-applied if installed before Service Release 5.
