Note: Any references to Community Connect 3™ in this document apply equally to RM Smart-Tools 3.
Before installing any software update, please refer to TEC90813 and DWN59018 on the RM Support Web site (see 'Other Useful Articles' below). These articles detail RM's recommendations regarding software update installation and support.
Platforms
HFXCC3191 is applicable to Community Connect 3 networks with KB925902 (MS07-017) or KB928843 (MS07-008) installed and have observed the issues described in the "Symptoms" section below.
Symptoms
Install this update to resolve an issue where the Realtek HD Audio Control Panel may not start after you install security update KB925902 (MS07-017), provided in HFXCC3188 or security update 928843 (MS07-008), provided in HFXCC3185. On a Community Connect 3 workstation running Microsoft� Windows� XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2),
Additionally, you may receive an error message on a workstation that resembles the following:
application_executable_name - Illegal System DLL Relocation
The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occurred because the DLL C:\Windows\System32\Hhctrl.ocx occupied an address range reserved for Windows system DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL.
Download Instructions
Log on to your first Community Connect 3 domain controller as a system administrator.
Click the HFXCC3191.exe file link below to download the Update.
Choose to Save the file, browse to the temporary location you wish to save it to (eg Desktop or D:\Temp) and click Save.
When the file has downloaded, follow the installation instructions below to install the Update.

Installation Instructions
How to install the Update
Note: If you previously started to install the Update but cancelled the operation, follow the installation instructions in the 'Installing after cancelling a previous install' section below:
Log on to the Community Connect 3 server as a system administrator and copy the Update to a temporary location (eg D:\temp).
Run the Update by double-clicking the self-extracting executable file (HFXCC3191.exe). The Update will extract files automatically and run the RM Installation Assistant to begin the installation.
When prompted, click Continue.
The installation will proceed automatically. When prompted that the RM Installation Assistant has finished, click Finish.
Repeat steps 2-4 at all your other Community Connect 3 domain controllers.
HFXCC3191 provides a new workstation package but does not automatically allocate it. You should allocate the new systems package "Windows XP Update KB935448", to any workstations matching the description in the "Platforms" section, earlier in the document.
Note: Servers will not need to be restarted after installation of this update but workstations to which you allocate the new package will require restarting to install the update.
Installing after cancelling a previous install
Browse to D:\RMNetwork\RMManage\RM Hotfixes\HFXCC3191_extracted and double-click the file RM Installation Assistant.exe (if this folder or its contents does not exist, re-run the HFXCC3191.exe file downloaded from the RM Support Web site).
Follow the procedures in 'How to install the Update' from step 3 above.
Important - Interaction with RM Service Releases
The components of HFXCC3191 will be included in a future Community Connect 3 Service Release.
HFXCC3191 is not included in Service Release 5 or 6.
